Imerovigli is a dream village located in the north of Santorini and built on the highest point of the Caldera cliffs, about 300 meters above sea level. It’s home to many luxury hotels and upscale restaurants and provides some of the best caldera and sunset views.

If you’re wondering if Imerovigli is a good place to stay, wonder no more. It’s the best place to stay in Santorini! Imerovigli is pretty, peaceful and relaxing, and the perfect choice for a more secluded and hassle-free holiday in Santorini.

But accommodation here tends to be more expensive than in other parts of the island and the rooms sell very fast. Booking in advance is highly recommended!

Most of the hotels in Imerovigli don’t have a parking lot and finding a parking space can be a bit challenging, particularly in the summer.

Staying in Imerovgli you might need to hire a car because the village is located about 2.5Km, a 30min walk, from Fira, Santorini’s capital. Although there’s a bus stop on the main road, you will need to change buses at Fira’s terminal if you want to explore the island.

I fell in love with this town during my first time in Santorini in 2014. During my second visit, I decided to stay in Imerovigli to discover it better.

Offering six types of rooms, from a cave room to a deluxe suite with an outdoor hot tub, a swimming pool for adults/kids, pool showers, sun beds and free parking.

Kasimatis was my personal choice in Imerovigli. I booked a “Cave double room with pool view”, that’s 13m², has a private bathroom with shower and a veranda with pool view. The room was a reasonable size for one person, clean and tidy, the bed comfy and the toiletry products excellent.

Located 180m from Imerovigli centre, Aelia by Eltheon offers a pool with deck chairs and umbrellas and traditionally furnished studios and apartments with beautiful views over the Aegean Sea.

A municipal parking area is located 20m from the property and a bus stop can be reached at 100 m. Shops, restaurants and the bus stop are a few minutes walk away.

Villa Happening is an affordable family-run lodging located in the central square of Imerovigli.

The complex consists of Cycladic style, air-conditioned rooms, most with sea and sunrise views. They come with a private bathroom, a TV, and a refrigerator.

You can find restaurants, café and mini markets within walking distance.

9 – Pearl Inn Hotel

Pearl Inn Hotel by Pearl Hotel Collection is a very affordable 4-star hotel that features accommodations with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace.

The location isn’t the best one, but a bicycle rental service is available at the property, in case you don’t want to rent a car.

Agia Irini is one of the very few Imerovigli hotels located on the east side of Imerovigli, close to Pori Beach and 1.2 miles from the village.

It offers charming rooms with breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea and mountains and there’s also a lovely swimming pool and a pool bar serving drinks and snacks.

The rooms are furnished according to the Cycladic style and provide air conditioning, flat-screen TV, a refrigerator and an ensuite bathroom.
