A Taste of Morocco: Marrakech & Sahara Desert

While Marrakech dazzles with its vibrant colours, rich culture, and irresistible charm, the Sahara’s golden dunes stretch endlessly, creating a dreamlike landscape that feels almost surreal.

If you haven’t been to Morocco yet, this is your chance to visit two of the most enchanting destinations in this unique country.

On my Taste of Morocco Tour, we will visit striking palaces and gardens, lose our way in Marrakech’s famous medina, savour the delicious Moroccan cuisine and fall in love with the Sahara Desert.

And the best part is that everything is planned! You don’t have to worry about anything, not even how to take good pictures, because I’ll also be your photographer 😊

The itinerary is packed with astonishing activities and free time to relax and explore the places at your own pace. There will be no rush, no need to “take another vacation after this vacation”.

We will all have fun together. It will not only be just a holiday, but a trip to remember!

Travelling to Morocco

Flights

You are responsible for your round-trip ticket to Marrakech. Airfare is not included in the price.

The best way to find flights to Marrakech International Airport (RAK) is through Skyscanner.

You can expect to find reasonably priced tickets to Marrakech this time of the year. Alternatively, you can fly to Essaouira, Agadir or Casa Blanca and take a train/bus to Marrakech.

Insurance

You are responsible for your travel insurance. Travel insurance is mandatory for this trip! If you don’t have one, I can recommend Safetywing, the one I use and trust.

What to pack for Morocco

When travelling to Morocco, you should bear in mind that:

The average temperature in October ranges from 14°C (57°F) to 29°C (84°F). You can expect hot days and pleasant nights.

The best fabrics for hot weather are linen, chambray, lightweight wool (aka summer wool), and cotton. But forget thick cotton T-shirts and choose lighter ones. Avoid fabrics like rubber, leather, polyester, acrylic and denim. These are just recommendations, though.

Extras costs

If you’re wondering about the additional costs you will have in Morocco, with food, drinks, souvenirs, etc, you can expect to spend an average of €10-15/meal in a regular restaurant and €40 in a better one.

Currency rates and exchange

The local currency is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). In tourist areas, Euros or US Dollars are widely accepted. However, it’s best to use Dirhams for most transactions.

You can exchange money at banks, exchange offices, and some hotels. Credit cards are also widely accepted in larger establishments.

I recommend always carrying cash and opening a Revolut or Wise account to avoid paying international transaction fees.
